  • Our Passion

Animal welfare and the well-being of our Critters is the most important part of our work here at Company of Critters.

All animal activities in England involving members of the public and an exchange of money are legally required to be licensed either as a zoo, or animal establishment or hold a relevant Animal Activities Licence and should display details of their licence on their premises and available for potential customers. Company of Critters is proud to hold The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018 Licence for keeping or training animals for exhibition. This licence requires an in-depth inspection of the premises, practices and animal welfare, which is reviewed every three years. To hold this licence we are also required to show that we are always trying to better our knowledge of animal wellbeing and keeping.

It is because of this research and care that Company of Critters will not abide bad handling practices such as tarantulas on heads, inappropriately sized snakes around necks or kissing frogs. Handling these exotic animals is to be treated as a privilege, not a right. Each Critter has their own personality and our staff will never force an animal to do something it does not want to do.

All of our animal encounters are made to be enjoyed and cherished, by all ages and capabilities. They are positive interactions in safe environments, aiming to educate and excite!
