The Importance of Rescues

Rescue Centres all of the UK help to save the animals we love

The majority of our wonderful Critters that come out on talks with us, are rescues from various rescue centres such as the National Centre for Reptile Welfare (NCRW). Some found their way to us through other means, where people who can no longer care for them and reach out to us directly.

Giving up an animal you love is never easy. But, unfortunately, with the prices of household bills and food rising, for some people it is not possible to keep their beloved pets. That's where a rescue centre comes in. Usually with dogs and cats it is straightforward with huge names such as the RSPCA , Kit Wilson, Cats Protection... however, with reptiles and other exotics it is slightly harder.

Our biggest success story is our Gorgeous George!

He arrived at the NCRW underweight, dehydrated, worm-ridden, covered in old layers of stuck shed, sagging mouth, overgrown nails, and no strength to stand... so obviously we fell in love! He had warm baths to help get rid of the excess shed and to encourage him to drink. He started having heathy fattier foods in small portions more often to help him gain weight, and we enouraged him to go on short walks about the centre to build up his strength! The NCRW also clipped his nails and made sure he recieved the perfect treatment for worms.

Since then, he has put on weight, had a complete and beautiful shed with us and definately built up enough strength to cause mischief and make us laugh every day! He has started coming out on sessions and seems to be loving life!

We are joining forces with a band of exotic rescues throughout the UK to help support and spread awareness! We will be updating the list regularly.
